A Professional Sales Approach
The Solar Spectrum Transmission Meter is our most technically advanced and accurate transmission meter. While it will undoubtedly be used in various labs and manufacturing facilities, its main application will be as a sales tool. We at EDTM believe in providing sales tools that display an honest, unbiased demonstration of your window or film’s performance so the performance can speak for itself, and that’s exactly what the SS2450 is designed to do.
“Re-Creating The Solar Spectrum”
Using patented technology, the SS2450 effectively re-creates the sun’s solar spectrum within the meter. The biggest shortcoming with previous instruments is that they only measured a small portion of the Infrared Transmission performance of glass or film. These previous instruments have used a cost-effective method of only showing performance in the 900 to 1000nm IR range. While these tools have helped communicate energy performance, they haven’t told the whole story. Using its patented technology, the Solar Spectrum Transmission Meter has surpassed previous meters by displaying 780 to 1700nm+, as shown in the illustration below. The final “bump” of energy you see on the far right-hand side of the chart accounts for less than 5% of the Solar spectrum.
Most Accurate Energy Measuring Device To Date
The Visible Light Transmission (VLT) value of the SS2450 accurately represents the photopic spectrum for visible light, which is the standard used for the glass, window & film industries. Because of its outstanding spectrum performance in visible and IR, the SS2450 also provides a very accurate Solar Transmission (UV, Visible, and IR combined) value. As a comparison, our BTU Solar Meters cover the spectrum of 300nm to 1100nm while the Solar Spectrum Transmission meter covers 300 to 1700+nm.
Damage Weight Coefficient
A new feature in the SS2450 is a Damage Weight Coefficient value specified in the ISO9050 and NFRC300 standards. This value assigns a percentage of 0 to 100 to the ability of a given window product to resist fading and damage from the sun’s energy. The lower the number, the better the performance of your product.
Three Calibration Standards
The SS2450 is capable of calculating the transmission values for 3 different standards: EN410(2011), ISO9050(2003), and NFRC 300(2010). The device will show results calibrated to the standard you have selected. This optimizes the meter for worldwide use, as users can select the standard most relevant to their country.
